Meta’s new Ray-Ban Display smart glasses are here, and cost about US $800.
They’ve got a built-in display in one lens and notifications on the go.
But software is still catching up, and public wariness of tech on faces hasn’t gone away yet.
The Meta Ray-Ban Display go on sale Sept 30.
Even with Meta’s smart visual tech and Ray-Ban’s fashion cred, I think it’s a steep ask.
For product makers, the lesson is clear:
A great hardware partnership can open doors, but adoption lives or dies on software maturity and cultural comfort.
Are we there yet? We’ll soon find out.
Pushing a premium price before the experience is seamless risks alienating early adopters instead of winning them.
